I saw in Birds and Blooms that someone put up a mister to spray water and that the Hummers would fly thru the mist. I put one in my yard pond hoping to see some of the Hummers we have around our house flying thru it and maybe hover in the mist long enough for me to get a photo of them. No Hummers yet, but the other birds seem to enjoy it. Just thought I would pass this infromation along thinking that maybe someone else might want to try it..

Excellent pics and a great idea, I've got a watergarden and a mister would be a great addition to attract wildlife

Thanks for all of the nice comments, the birds seem to like sitting under the spray and when it gets hot this summer I think they will enjoy it even more........

Several years ago we were having a standard hot summer. I bought one that went on the end of a garden hose then a rod to stick in the ground. The birds loved it. The only problem was it was poor quality and came apart several times. I also have a water feature with water running down the face of a large . The hummers love this to bathe in as well as others.

I made mine out of CPVC and so far it seems to be holding up very well. We also have a small waterfall where the water goes from the top pond to the lower one and I have put some rocks in the lower one for the fish to hide under. The rocks stick up out of the water some and some times the birds will sit there and drink but they seem to like the shallow water in the top pond most.....
