It seems like a lot of money for something you can do without it. One of those boys and toys things.
The price of the full blown setup shown in the video would really hurt the pocketbook. No more new camera equipment for a while!
This is primarily for pros. If you need to quickly peruse large quantities of photos to edit, these units allow you to quickly decide which to flag to work with, then quickly edit them and move on to final finishing. It allows the majority of operations to be done in one area, not moving your hands back and forth from keyboard to mouse.
For me, it's not worth the money for my few 100 to 300 photos per shoot. I can use the mouse and keyboard to do all my flagging and editing.
Agree it's a little pricey and honestly, I would consider buying a Wacom and look at another lens.
It is interesting but the best part to me is the competition, it will drive prices down. I especially like the modular nature of the Palette device I posted.

I'll look forward to your opinion...like you hands not what they used to be.
I have seen this before used by an instructor on CreativeLive and he seemed to like it. I don't use my Wacom as I don't like a bunch of stuff around when I am editing - already have extra drives to plug in ports and don't want any more clutter.

I would wonder - using the dials and sliders to edit would be handy, BUT, what happens when you move from one image to the next? Do the dials and sliders reset back to zero or do the settings get held over and need to be manually reset to start working from default on the new image.
I have a Wacom tablet for Photoshop, but just have not put in the time to get a real feel for using it versus the mouse and keyboard yet, and there is a learning curve for sure.
It's something else that needs to be plugged into the computer, and it takes up desk space. It doesn't do anything that my mouse can't do with the LR sliders. Plus, with the sliders, I get a numerical readout of each value as I change it. Plus, it's expensive. Nice idea but not that practical.
