Kids should be raised to be independent thinkers. To me, this is the job of parenting. If this is done, there is no reason to talk or worry about the teachers or professors in schools or universities. The liberal slant on teaching has been complained about for the last 50 years, to my recollection.
So, I believe good thinking should be taught at home to begin with. That's my responsibility as a father.
I agree completely. Here's the truth though. I helped out in my child's grammar school and parents that took an interest in their children's education, the children were good students and excelled in their work in school and in life. Parents that didn't, the child was far behind and to the point of being incapable of learning. I read in the hallway to those most abandoned by their parents trying to help them. The hardest part; some of the kids smelled so bad it was hard to stay there and read to them. From what I observed; about 5-10% of the children had parents who took an interest in their children's education and did their part as they should. About 30-50% took a partial interest and did a limited amount of interest in their children's education and the rest did little to nothing; some so bad they never bothered to bathe their children. When in college at a state western university, my child was afraid to open his mouth in class discussions for fear of being attacked by both the faculty and students. My child knows what is really going on in the world and he finds that even less of the younger generation cares less what goes on in government. They think everything is perfect and most can't even tell you the capital city of their state, while taking in every lie from the mass media and holleyweird.
