I am a longtime Amazon Prime member and recently learned that they are offering unlimited photo storage for members. The one problem I have encountered is that if you upload Nikon raw files it shrinks them to about 2% of the original file size, even though the data on prime shows the original size. If I download one of these photos back to my computer the original 25 MB file is now about 50 kB. Oddly enough, this does not happen with Canon raw files. The techs at Amazon have been working on this for the past week and still don't know why it is happening. I was just curious to know if anyone else has run into this problem.

If I were to use online storage/backup, I think I would go with BackBlaze. Other "storage" services often reduce the size of the images. I use Google Photos, but to display pictures for people to see rather than for storage.

I uploaded a nikon raw and had the same issue. Amazon compresses them for fast viewing online but they should give back the original when downloading. I use Flickr. They give the option of several different sizes when downloading including the original. They don't 'store' raw files though. They are designed for file viewing, not storage. Personally I never view my raw photos before post processing.
I have been using Crash Plan for several years, great customer service, never have had a problem. $59.00 a year
