844 blew thru town around 1.40 pm today and stopped 10 miles or so down the track for a lay over to refuel and service stop
Great shots, you don't see that everyday.
I just got home from the hospital after having back surgery. I opened up UHH and this was the 1st post I saw. Sure made my day! Naturally, I had to look up the schedule for the 844. I never miss it when It comes to town.. sure enough, it is coming to K.C., I am not bed ridden and I am semi mobile. Now for the bad news, ha, ha! I can not go back to work until at least the 15th of November. Guess where I will be come Friday? Somewhere between Kansas City & Lawrence, Kansas waiting on the 'Ol 844, with camera in hand. I have a lifting restriction of no more than 10 pounds. My camera and heaviest lens does not weigh 10lbs. Am I lucky or what?
Very nice series by the way!
Tom.
Oh, and I own two 844's in H.o.; one on grey and the other in black. The grey one just happens to be on the layout right now. What a coincidence.
Thanks Longshadow it was quite a sight to see coming at you.

Really enjoy steam trains and I do like your series of photographs on the subject.
Well taken.
