Get me a Lear Jet, quick - Major Aurora tonight

So I have this app on my phone that alerts when an aurora is likely. It's been beeping all afternoon. A big aurora kp index is 7 and this one is predicted to get to 8.3 (max is 9). But here I sit in cloudy Illinois and the satellite maps show clouds over most of North America. So if anyone can fly my to Nova Scotia or Norway I'd be mighty grateful.

For any of you from Wisconsin north who may get clear skies, I wish you luck tonight. And I hope we see some pics posted tomorrow.

I went to your link, but rest assured I didn't click on the button to book a flight.

I have two actually:

Aurora Alert
and
Northern Eye App

You can let it automatically alert you based on the aurora strength and your gps location or you can enter threshold levels manually. Then it sends you a text or email if conditions are favorable. My main disappointment is that the alerts come just hours before activity. Since it takes about 3 days for coronal mass ejections to reach the earth, I would think they could alert you sooner. One of these days I'm going to be retired so with sufficient notice I could indeed fly north to try my luck.

I'll send you mine. Just go over to the airport and wait! Don't forget to tip the crew.
