Hi , all I have the opportunitie to get a 80-400 4.5 Nikon for 700$ , is that a good bargain ? what should I look for ? is that lens enough for wild life ,birds and everything else ? Thank you for your input
Well, new they go for about 1600 dollars so if it's in good shape I'd say it's a bargain.
Thank you Frank I will try it before and see .
Make SURE it is fully compatable with your camera! Or, be prepared to 'deal with' those incompatabilities.

Thank you , I have a D90 and a D7000 ,they are a gift from my wife , so I better get my rear end in gear and do something , in a few days I will join a course in photography I believe , now I have the time . What do think about this one taken a while back in a preserve ? Your critics will be appreciated
I've used a 80-400 VR a bit, have thought of buying one before.
There is some rattle when extended, you might watch out for misalignment of elements. The tube has some wiggle.

It is something that Nikon can fix ?
I've know 2 guys that had em and they hated them. They were soft and slow to focus.

I can't recommend one until I talk to the guys that I know who shoot Nikon. I'm sure other on UHH that use Nikon can chime it. But I know at least 2 maybe 3 guys that didn't like it.
