Out by the marina hoping for some good shots of setting sun on the few remaining boats in the marina, but no such luck. The sun set behind the tall trees before I could get into position.
Then I noticed a few turkey vultures* heading home to roost. They were above the trees (around 80' - 100' altitude) and still in the light of the setting sun. I set the D5300 on sports/burst mode, got focus on the one that was circling closest to me, and let loose with 2-five shot bursts hoping to capture some silhouettes. When I checked the images on the camera screen they did not look like much. However, when I got home and looked at the images on my monitor I saw they had captured some "golden" of the golden hour setting sun on their wings in a very interesting way. Here are the results.
Technical - Nikon d5300 with Nikon 18-140mm zoom, sports setting. All processed from RAW and cropped fairly heavily as the rest of the image was sky. They were quite noisy straight out of the camera. Did the best I could to reduce it.
Best in download.
Constructive C&C welcome.
*I am not an ornithologist, but my wife tells me this is a Turkey Vulture.
The first five were good but the last one was great!
Great Sequence. The last image is a Prize Winner

To all how have commented - thank you for viewing and glad you enjoyed them.
These "happy accident" images are the reason why I never (with rare exception) delete images when viewing them on the small camera screen out in the field. I was tempted to delete these images because they did not look like anything special. I am thankful that out of ten shots I had these six that were worthy of additional processing.
