It's a Cooper's Hawk. The Sharp Shinned Hawk has a squared off tail; this one is rounded.

Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk I believe.

It's a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. A Cooper's Hawk would have a longer tail that would have wide barring on it. The streaks on the breast of a Cooper's would go all the way up to the chin.

A cooper hawk is not that brown has more grey than brown.

all i know is that is some kind of a hawk............whatever he is.........he sure is pretty..........must have great eye sight being that high up and looking for prey.

My granddad used to call all large hawks Chicken Hawks and he encouraged us to go ahead and open season on 'em!
