Located in south central China, Zhangjiajie National Park has some unique and interesting sandstone mountain peaks. I switched between an 18-200mm and an 11-16mm lens. Here are some pictures from my first morning in the park as I walked up to the summit of Tianzi mountain and then some pictures from an area known as Shentang Gulf and an landmark called a Step to Heaven.
Very nice set, interesting area in China.

Thanks for the virtual tour of this unusual landscape. Any chance this area was used in filming "Avatar?"

You are correct. I will be posting pictures in the next day or so of the "Avatar" formation that inspired the movie Avatar. The pictures do not do it justice. Very cool and unusual formation.
Great set of an area of China of which I am unfamiliar. Thanks.
