Thank you for your comment tinusbum, I like this lens also it is a very sharp lens, it just tends to be a little slow to focus sometime.

You own an excellent lens. If I ever have to replace my Nikkor 105G, it will be a Sigma 105mm.
Your exposure looks correct. Exif says no speedlight illumination. Was image #2 captured in subdued, available (sun)light?
Just as a reminder, your macro lens MUST be at Minimum Focusing Distance in order to capture a true macro photograph (1:1 magnification). Some of us shoot at a bit further distance in order to increase DoF, then crop to 1:1 mag in post processing, along with normal image editing.

Thank you Douglass. Yes Image #2 was captured available light, but not in direct sunlight. Also thank you for a reminder, will definitely try that.

I particularly like the second and its Bokeh background.

No specular highlights in background, so no 'bokeh', only out-of-focus background.

Per Wikipedia - Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokeh
Visual examples of bokeh: https://www.google.com/search?q=bokeh&lr=&as_qdr=all&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiUkJmk78vPAhVFHGMKHf47DjUQsAQISQ&biw=1920&bih=969

Yes, or course you are right. I do tend to use the word incorrectly and will desist forthwith. Thanks.

VERY nice, Metro. I'm sure you'll love your new toy!! You said it was slow to focus sometimes. do you take your macros with auto-focus or do you use manual?

Thank you Gym.
When I capture macro images like stationary subjects I use manual focus and AI-Servo (this is a Canon setting, I believe it is called AF-C for Nikon cameras) for moving subjects like bees or some butterflies.
