For many years, up until about seven years ago, I raised roses in my front yard for my pleasure and for that of others. A few of the 200+ plants that I had stick out as favorites of mine...BALLERINA is one of those. It is classed as a Hybrid Musk Shrub. It reaches a height of just over six feet. Introduced in 1937, it is still in commerce today...a sure sign of a reliable and productive plant. I always grew this rose on a rather short trellis on a front wall of my house. The bloom form is considered as a "single" bloom (five petals) and it blooms all year long in continuous flourishes.

Beautiful rose, you don't see them very often.
I've never seen a more beautiful rose, Bob, and your images certainly show her to perfection.
Beautiful shots, nicely done.
My Mother grew roses to. She had fifty one and then she decided enough was enough and cut back to just her favorites. She hybrid several and sold them to Gurney's in South Dakota. People would come form out of town to look at the yard and take pictures etc. She enjoyed working the soil and getting dirty.

Beautiful flowers. Well photographed.
Nice work on the photos, Bob. I have a single Ballerina still thriving in my own garden. Has to be almost thirty years old now.

Bob, fantastic series of a very pretty flower. I love the way you went from a single bloom out to the whole plant. This allows the viewers like myself to actually see what a plant looks like. I will be on the outlook for this bush/rose.

Stunning shots, Bob! I love the glow in #2.
