Hi. I'm trying to decide between the DxO OpticsPro 11 Essential and the DxO OpticsPro 11 Elite. Is it worth the $70 difference for Elite? Also, do they ever go on sale and should I wait? Thanks.

Prime Noise Reduction and Clear View are worth the $70 difference.

IMO you gotta look at it this way--$70? You pay twice as much as that for a set of inks. If $70 is THAT important--photography is not for you. Nobody want to pi$$ away any money, but you if you don't go for the elite version you will always be thinking "what if".

It's definitely worth the extra cost. Their prime noise reduction for raw files is the best one that I have found. Sometimes B&H will run a sale on it.

Yes, the denoising ist best in class. And yes, they do seasonal offers, occasionally bundles with Filmpack. Subscribe to their newsletter and you won't miss the special offers.

Gotta agree. As a micro four thirds shooter, the prime noise reduction is well worth the money. I can boost up the ISO to 3200, 6400 and even beyond, slow my shutter speed way down and get those low light exposures clear and grain free. It's really kind of amazing.
