Went to the California Capital Air Show today. Overall, one of the worse in the 10+ years I've attended. Not a whole lot of flying. Overcast some, but just a few sprinkles. I did get some good shots. This is my first year shooting with my Sigma 150-200 lens on my D5200.... My conclusion is I probably could use 2 cameras to shoot the show next year. The day was partly overcast...
.....
Uncropped photo of FiFi, the only B-29 still flying.

The Blue Angels passing overhead. This was the furthest I could zoom ot, but for some odd reason, I really like this pic...

NicEly done. One of the better images of FiFi I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
Actually, there is another B-29 undergoing flight testing at McConnell AFB, KS.
Dear Motorbones,
What lens did you use and what were the camera settings for the shot of the Blue Angels?
Thank you
Philip Klim
It's a Sigma 150-200 F5/6.2 lens on my D5200. The B&W effect was from the clouds in the area at the time I shot it... The Blue Angels pic was shot at 1/500, f/5.6, ISO 200 and Focal Length of 150..
Thank you they are great shots.
Phil
Any airplane photo is a good photo. Same for trains.
Really do enjoy these aircraft photos. The shot of Fifi is fabulous. Great shot of the Blue Angels -- never a bad shot of them. Mahalo for sharing.
I, too, like the Blue Angels shot. Good composition for me!

Thanks for the information . I'm glad they're getting another one off the ground. I know they had a lot of problems with them during the war such as engine failure and landing issues. It's really nice to see the older aircraft flying again.... Back in July, my wife and I visited the National Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB and saw Bockscar which dropped the chalupa on Nagasaki on Aug 9, 1945...
