Years ago I made the horrible mistake of joining Flickr. Now I find that I can see my 248 photos but cannot log on to edit them. . Yahoo (Flickr host) has no phone or help of any sort. It seems they have two emails for me, but no matter what I do, new passwords, confirm alternate email etc, nothing works. Yahoo is now the owner of my photos. (and they were my best). Dont know if anyone here has an answer but beware of Flickr....

I've not had any problems with them other than forgetting my password and user name. Since there's no critical information on my page I keep a note of it in an incripted file on a flash drive. Other than my own problems, nothing with them.
I learned the hard way years ago that you don't put your images on line if you value them. Those that I do put online I do so at 72 dpi even then they get copied and "borrowed" The general attitude seems to be that if you can get it off the internet it belongs to you. I have even had people come into my booth at art shows and and try to take pictures of my prints with their digital cameras.

Thanks for the responses. I am so ticked off right now I probably am not thinking straight. I have tried everything, alternate password, etc etc, nothing works, no one to talk to as Yahoo..... Just have to accept that they own my photos, and I can k=look at them any time I want. (I do have them backed up elsewhere). Just do not know how a looney outfit like yahoo can exist..
Along the same line I'd like to know what other sights people are using and happy with besides Flickr.
Sounds like a rant from someone who didn't record his login/password. Consider a password manager so this doesn't occur. You can download Sticky Password for the Windows platform at no cost. There's no way to remember dozen of accounts with different passwords unless you make the responsible preparation to record them.
Flickr also allows resetting your password by emailing a code. You can also choose the code to be sent to different emails. Maybe I'm missing something in your situation and if so I apologize.

Are your only copies on Flickr? You have no backup?

I have had the same problem with flickr.I now use google's photo app
I've been on Flickr since 2003 and have had no problem other than their constant changes or "improvements". I log into my account at least weekly. All in all its not a bad site if you use due diligence when you set up the account. Did you have an alternate email address other than Yahoo when you first joined? The alternate account is needed to facilitate a password or ID reset. If not you are SOL.

I agree. The OP didn't use a login/password that they could remember, neglected to record it (either on paper or in a password manager like LastPass), and blames Yahoo?! The OP needs to look in the mirror to see who's really looney (referring to the OP calling Yahoo a looney outfit).
Read the original that says that i do back them up.

Like you everything I post is reduced in size and watermarked so if it is 'stolen' it cannot be used for much, and people could contact me for legitimate use, bob.
Re your nasyt rant....There are some mean people on UHH. I asked a simple question and was looking for help in contacting Yahoo and someone who could figure out the problem, which is not just a simple matter of forgetting a password. I keep a log of passwords and the Yahoo one did not work for some reason. The password which I had used for ages no longer worked and I hoped some one colld. That was a nasty reply, sir, unhelpful and mean. YOU look in the mirror and will see an ugly personality. Thought I could come here for an answer not a lecture on how stupid you think I am.
Sorry I upset you, I will refrain from asking questions on UHH from now on. Thought I was among friends. Maybe there are some real Ugly hogs after all.

I don't have problem with Flickr, my images are limited to 1mb and water-marked. I book-marked the site, whenever I want to go to the site, I just click the site and in there with out using my pass word.
Thank everyone for all your help..
