David....You didn't understand the question. This thread is about photographers' rights. Rights to take photos from public places. You've posted photos from a private place where you were asked not to take photos. That is not an illustration of the assertion of a right, but an illustration of a photographer doing what he wishes on private property despite what he had been asked not to do. Without getting a license or prior permission ahead of time, you're exactly the reason that photographers have a hard time when they ARE within their rights. So, despite the fact that you feel that your photo of an excellent piece of art was worth trampling on the rights of others.....and you're posting it here as if to say, "look what my bad deed resulted in," the rest is that us poor bums have to sweep up the scat the undisciplined leave behind. I.E. If all behaved professionally, then perhaps we wouldn't be accosted by neighbors and the police so often.

Long story short....you have no excuse and your photo is ill gotten gain. You're too old to be proud of your poopoos.
David....You didn't understand the question. This... (show quote)

Yup! David did something he was not supposed to do and the people around him or the official if caught him wouldn't think he did anything more than what he actually did. Taking pictures in places he was not supposed to. The irony is that if I a man of color, driving a beaten up car and not well dressed, if I were to take a picture of a nice house in the Highland Park area (David would know where it is) where there are many old but very nice houses I would be suspected of doing something a lot worse (like robbing the house) and yet I would be doing something I am entitled to by the law. So even though it's something legal I would not do it.

The whole question, Bebu, is why post the photos taken on private property done without permission on a thread talking about photographers' rights? Now, apparently, we're getting into the racial aspect of photographers' rights as well. Black, brown, yellow, or blue.....the rights apply to all, and I'd stand up for your rights. Want to take pictures of some nice homes in Highland Park? Let me know the next time you're in the area and we'll go out together. I am dark complected enough myself that when I wear a moustache, even the hispanics come up to me and speak Spanish. Anybody with a tan in Texas is considered Mexican. HR in Dallas even put me down as Hispanic until I corrected them. Wrong move (except it would not have been the truth). I could have gotten any number of jobs that I was passed for over during the time of "manifest imbalance."

I seem to have generated a lot of discussion. I regret sidetracking the original intent of the thread. My action was ill-advised. Mea culpa.

No need for apologies... It's an open forum and interesting one too! We should all respect and even argue with others thoughts and in an intelligent manner.
