For the last couple of weeks the hummingbird feeder is always empty in the morning...I finally went out and sat quietly for about 20 minutes and half a dozen of these bats showed up. It took a while to get a photo..but here is the proof!

And I've been blaming my local squirrels all summer. This could very well be the same situation here.

I didn't know bats could hover.

We have the same exact problem. Couldn't figure out why our hummingbird feeders were empty every morning until I sat out in the backyard late one night. Then I saw the bats. I haven't taken any pictures yet but your nice shot encourages me to give it a try.

Wow! I've seen photos of all kinds of non-hummer visitors, but these are the first bats. I've seen photos of lizards, squirrels, woodpeckers and other birds. This is a first.

That is so cool!! Bats are our friends, especially here in Florida. Without them, mosquitos will take over!
