Now that I'm retired, I plan to spend a lot more time hiking & taking pictures. Normally, when I'd wear a hat, it would be a baseball cap or similar. However, now that I am retired, I decided to get a better outdoor hat for keeping shaded and cool.
After looking at lots of options, to include bush hats from Costco and the "Crusher" from Duluth Trading, and looking at lot of online reviews, I have ordered a hat from a company called "Tilley". The model is the LTM8. Anyone have experience with Tilley hats?

Mine have been exceptional. Best features:
They float thanks to a Styrofoam inset in the crown.
The brim is adjustable to shield the face and neck from any sun angle--it moves you know!
There are TWO head straps, one for the chin and one for the back of the head.---No help for me who forgot to secure the straps and it flew off on the tram over the Blue Mountains near Leura Australia.
The workmanship and utility is far superior to and "Bush" and similar hats I've seen. And, be confident that, while looking, perhaps, a bit dorky, you're protected.
Wear yours in health,

I wear mine playing tennis outside. I don't like the chin strap but I used the back strap and it was so windy playing. My coaches hat flu off but mind didn't move.
Enjoy your retirement. I do, I can ski all winter long.

About the only time I use the chin strap is when I'm driving in the convertible.
