AZPiclady, yes, Arabians are the same. If a foal is born on January 5, it is considered a year old, to be shown in the yearling classes. So, the earlier the foaling the better. Better to show a January foal than a foal born in August, that would not be nearly as mature or competitive. Cheers TG

Don't forget that Oz is Southern Hemisphere & we are 6 months different. The traditional 'horses birthday ' here is August 1st. Most foals in this area drop in October. Earl.
