I Visited the back side of Mt. Timpanogos in northern Utah twice this week; once following a storm and then again Saturday to see some sunshine-brightened Autumn leaves. This area is only 19 minutes driving time from my home (timed it); so I figured it would be easy to post a few picts heralding the arrival of Fall…my favorite season.
Thanks. You sort of have to choose your color in this area based on time...maple leaves turn red first, then leaves fall off. Next, aspen turn yellow followed by leaf-fall. Finally scrub oak turns gold/bronze...followed by bare trees & six months of snow. I have always wished all varieties would change simultaneously, but humans don't get to choose.
Just excellent images - the colors are really beautiful. Here in Colorado we don't get a lot of red - love the reds in your area.
Thanks. It's been a very hot & dry summer. Maple have turned out to be O.K. in damp areas, but the aspen are stressed. Suspect their leaf color will be diminished this year.
