iPhone 7 Camera Great Point and Shoot but

Took a quick shot with the new iPhone 7 on Saturday morning, overcast sky and off and on rain. While I think it does a pretty good job, I will still prefer to take my DSLR when I want to make some pictures. This one is altered a bit with PS Express and then I blurred the licence plate in PS CC this evening.

I noticed that there is not a lot of controls for the user and in lower light (indoors) you get some very grainy pics.

Vast improvement over my 6 year old phone but definitely keeping my cameras. LOL, I don't even think I will bother with one of those selfie sticks.

Took a quick shot with the new iPhone 7 on Saturda... (show quote)

It doesn't set the world on fire, but like a Subaru it gets the job done! Although I've heard that some hiss at you.

I don't doubt it, although I have never compared them, I'm just used to all the Apple stuff I have so wasn't interested in switching and replacing the apps I have and use.

The Forester is the wife's car, it does get the job done, especially in the winter around here, I have never driven anything in the winter that is as surefooted as that thing other than a snowmobile!

I haven't heard any of the hissing, but with my hearing who knows, lol

Keep an ear on your iPhone 7, they, or some of them, may have some issues. Amongst other things we have a 2005 Subaru Outback XT stick shift. It deals with the weather when needed - up in the Sierra for example - and it moves when I tell it to. That 4 banger boxer turbo delivers the goods when called upon, and it doesn't handle too badly in the twistys either. Cheers!

With a little imagination, you can use the selfie stick creatively, outside of its intended purpose.

I use the stick for interesting high angle shots by raising the phone high above my head. Composition is of course a bit of a hit-or-miss, so it usually takes a few tries until I get what I want. I suppose one could achieve the same thing with a DSLR on timer attached to a monopod and raising the camera up high, but a phone on a selfie stick is a far safer option and with less camera shake issues due to its significantly lighter weight. And certainly more practical than bringing a large step ladder with you or climbing up a tree!

Also, the selfie stick can be utilized effectively as a handy monopod for your camera phone. There is no rule that says the selfie stick should only be used to make selfies. I have been using a selfie stick for over a year, and have yet to shoot a selfie with it! (Maybe I'll try it someday...)

I haven't got my IPhone 7 plus 256 gig yet .. My grandson who works for Apple is on Vacation and can't get mine it til he returns ... The software for the camera hasn't been released yet ... I wanted the Jet Black (shinny black) .., then I read the reviews that the black shinny finish scratches so easy ... I will order the Matt black instead ..

I just want the new IPhone to take better shots than my brothers Samsung note phone ... My current IPhone 6 Plus 128 gig doesn't quite measure up to the Samsung note shots ... I am confident that the IPhone 7 plus will do the trick for me .... No cell phone camera will replace my D810 ....

I think that's a good call. It is a nice shot but still I have to agree with you.

What with all this iPhone picture talk, I am led to wonder whether it takes voice or text calls. In between or instead of pictures.
