I again took this photo at Hayden Lake, north Idaho which is on the north side of the city of Coeur d' Alene.

I used 560mm. Hand held shot.
Please use the download.

Canon 5Dsr - Canon 100-400 II - Canon 1.4x III - 1/1328 - f/16 - ISO @ 1250 - Distance was about 175-200 feet.

Looks like you and the Ospreys are having great success at that lake.

I doubt the salmon agree though. My wife likes to make salmon I wonder if she would be too shocked if I suggested salmon for dinner Tuesday? With baked potatoes, mixed veggies and garlic bread.

I thank you, Robert. The osprey and the salmon are slowly disappearing from this lake, so
I am trying to get some final shots.

Regis, for a change I read all the other posts prior to answer or comment on this photo. You said you got lucky. Lucky would be one great photo like this one out of one hundred. When we look for just the last couple of days you are VERY LUCKY and need to buy some lotto tickets. Your photos are not a product of luck, they are a product of a photographer that knows how to get the best out of the equipment they own. You are just a very modest person. I know this is my $.02 but I believe it is very accurate.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. No luck at all here. Just a very skilled shooter with first rate gear.If Iwere to attempt these photos all you would see is a blur and a blue sky.
