Greetings fellow Hogs,

I have the opportunity to spend 3 days in Tampa Bay this week. I love shooting night skylines... I am looking for any photo suggestions from those who know. I will try to sneak out for one morning... perhaps a whole day, otherwise I will have the early morning, and late nights available. I did look at some images for the zoo send my new D500 through the paces, but thought I'd look for other suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Some suggestions for places where I have shot (and posted) and recommend. For night time, you can park at the Publix at Bayshore and walk to the river (a great place for the skyline). Also, the upper level of the Tampa General Hospital parking garage (there is a small charge). For wildlife, Lettuce Lake and Fort DeSoto Park.

If you would like to meet up, send me a PM.

When I visit cities that have a professional sports team, if I am able, I like taking photos of the stadium and surroundings. Some are in downtown areas that make it even better. Restaurants, businesses, and people who don't mind posing for a photo when asked. While you can Google these images, doing it yourself has value. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL team stadium.

Check the moon phase, you might get a shot of the moonrise over south TB skyline and a sunset from the Courtney Campbell Causeway, there is plenty of parking.

Further to Bruce's comment, you can download The Phographers Ephemeris (free when I got it). It gives you sunrise/sunset, moonrise/set, for pretty much any location.

Are the Florida Keys out of the question.

I have been in the Tampa airport a zillion times and never considered photography from the roof. How do you get to the roof?

Go into short term parking garage(free for 1st hour) and go to the 9th floor(no roof overhead). 360 view.
