Just returned from Alaska. Although I had my 20mm prime with me, I decided in several cases to do some stitched panos, often using my 70-200. I like how I can bring distant mountains more into the fore of the photo rather than being tiny objects in the background. Comments and suggestions appreciated. Best viewed in the download.

Stitched using? Nikon, Lightroom, Photoshop ?
Did you do the PP before the stitch or after, and what PP did you do?
Colors seem augmented? Almost look like HDR was used somehow ?
I'll be taking a cruise to Alaska next year - - will be a different experience
The last time I went to Denali it was about 2004 in a double-wide pop-out 38' motor home rented outside the Anchorage airport.

Thank you all for you kind words. And Mr. CWP, two little tips: First, shoot all the pano photos in manual including white balance. Second, take a picture of your hand in front of the camera at the end of your pano series. It really helps identify which photos go together later. Then in Lightroom, you simply hold the shift button down while you click on the photos in the series and tell it to make a pano. It's really that simple.

All PP work including stitching done in Lightroom. I shot in manual and RAW. Then stitched the NEF's together and did post-processing of the final image.

I won't argue the colors are somewhat pumped up. That is a result of shooting on cloudy days but trying to remove the blandness. Its what I had to work with and others may or may not like the effect.

You mentioned you are doing a cruise. I actually stitched some panos taken from a moving ship. It worked fine since the foreground was out of focus water and there were not major intermediate elements such as trees to line up.

Thanks for looking.

I haven't tried the Lightroom® function for stitching--I've been using Autostitch® I'll have to give the LR method a try.
