The Bananas Continue

It seems that if I go out to the banana plant every two days, I get some different views.
Since the pod appeared out of a leaf on 31 Aug, the 2 day intervals show good growth.
This is the scene on 4 Sep.

Is it right about now that the squirrels attack and devour them? You know, before the birds peck them to death.

Our tree-rats have left them alone and I feed the birds seeds.

When I lived in West Palm Beach I had banana trees and a beautiful Doberman named Herbie. Herbie loved bananas and would go to the tree and pick one or two, peel them, and eat them. I could never teach him to put the peels in the trash. Oh, he also loved grapefruit. Nice pictures of the banana stalks. Hope it stays warm enough for them to fully ripen.

I've been in Jacksonville and you do have much lower temps than here on the West Coast at Ft Myers. Tks for info on Herbie

Yupper. These are sweet bananas and have them in the morning with cereal or munching in front of the TV at night. And they freeze well.
