Here are some fun photos from the annual historic auto festival parade at Lime Rock this past Thursday. Some of the backgrounds could have been better, but I was shooting from suggested spots given to me by locals based on a parade route map. Unfortunately, the beginning was changed and according to the map, the ending should have been over the red bridge as planned. More than likely the first car made the wrong turn and everyone followed, not allowing me to shoot with proper backgrounds.
Beauties all. Excellent Event. They do similar events at Leguna Seca in California, not to far from Monterey/Carmel. I restored British Cars for about ten years. Switched to Italian later. As in Fiat and Alfa. FIAT stood for "Fix It Again Tony". But I found the Italian cars to be quite reliable.
Owned a white Alfa roadster as in the second to last picture, and a Healey like the last picture. It was a few years ago. The Alfa in that pic (both of them) are pushing $40,000 to $75,000. The blue alfa coupe was a lust of mine, and very hard to find.
The cornering attitude of the Lagonda in the third pick is excellent. The multiple pictures of the Red/burgundy MG-TC are all wall hangers, in the shop if you restore british cars. The TC was one of the first british cars to open a market in the US, then the Healey's.
Just noticed, the green MG-TD in the picture with the Alfa's, I also owned one of. It was bastardized with a Volvo engine/trans.
Thanks for the very good images and the memories. I've been on the track at Leguna Seca. Would love to travel to Lime Rock, but............
I love the Alfas and own a 63 spider, 63 sprint, 63 spider parts car, 64 GTV basket case and an 84 spider I will probably use for parts. Kuzano, I might sell the sprint if you still want one. Complete except for seats I think. Needs total restoration.
Here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment.
Wonderful group of photos! Winners all! Can't get my eyes off that Red MG! TG

A lovely series on a historic track - thanks for posting. Beautiful Healeys, Jags, MGs and Alfas (and the ugliest roll cage I could ever imagine in the silver XK120). Can't tell from the photo - what is the black #159 car between the candy apple red Cobra and the white Alfa?

Wonderful. Love seeing all those great cars.
Nice shots and memories. I went to Lime Rock many times back in the early and mid 70's. Great viewing from that infield hill. Came very, very close to buying an Alfa GTV once.

Thank you Vino2nite.....Your shots of the MGTC brought back beautiful memories of the two MG's i owned. the first being a 1953 MGTD MkII, with knock off hubs and I also had a cowling on the drivers side so i could put the "wind screen" down...and it was also red. My second MG was a TF1500 grey in color. I so wish i could score another MG. Even with the lucas wiring and weber carbs which both were so bad LOL.

Didn't your MGs have SUs? Webers would have been a big improvement😀
Wow, some great cars, The Austin Healy reminded me that when I was high school I had an ugly '55 Ford 4-door. My uncle (not much older than me) had an Austin Healy 3000. When he needed a better "make out" car, he would trade cars with me and I got to drive the Austin, which I thought was a fantastic car, for a few days.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. The only cars I had while I was young(er) were a '62 Austin Healy Sprite, a '80 Nissan 280X T-top and a '75 Mercedes 450SL. I now drive a very dependable '03 Mercedes SL500, but may opt for a 2013+ Porsche Panamera if I can trade the SL and a Lexus GS300 together, both with lower miles. Having grown up in the Finger Lakes, I spent a fair amount of time at Watkins Glen raceway.

I have an Alfa hub cap hanging in my garage. That's about as close as Ill get to owning an Alfa. I have seen the races at Watkins Glen on the streets and later when they went to the closed track. The last time I was there was for the Porsche club races.
Neat shots of some really cool cars, vino2nite!
