Do you have PC or Mac? Where are your pictures now?

If you're using a PC:
Insert the stick into the computer. Go to the folders of images you want to back up. Select the folders, right-click mouse and choose copy. Navigate to the drive which corresponds to the inserted memory stick. Then use right-click again, this time choose paste. Observe that the selected folders now appear in the new location. These folders are exact copies of the folders you initially selected, as are all the images contained within them. Done.

open a flickr account and put them on there you can then access them from any free country in the world. You can keep them private in the settings or show them to family members only.

Be warned a 16gb stick is not a very high capacity device by today's standards. It will hold about 2000 20mb images in jpg format, about 200 in raw.

If all you think you need is 16 gb, you are not taking enough photos. I use 2tb external drives for backup, and I have several. a better way to backup a small number of photos would be a DVD disc, less apt to crash than a memory stick.

Better yet, get a WD backup drive to backup larger numbers of photos. It's always recommended to have two backup drives, in fact. I have one to backup manually, but I'm going to purchase another that will be connected to my router and will backup continuously, so any new photos or files will be automatically saved to that drive. Apparently, though, it takes a drive that is specifically configured to be wired into the network.

Those numbers don't sound right. Isn't 16GB / 20MB raw files ~ 800 photos.
