Thanks Tpharm, I was on the boat ride years ago and remember the guides lecture. You can tour areas (cemeteries, white and slave) not open to the general public. They own about 15000 acres on both sides of the river and lease Huntington Beach State Park to the state. I've had a house here since 2004 and retired in 2011. We've been BBG members for a long time. I go there for birds also, but with the heat the birds are scarce. Eagles just returned, not sure where the vacation in the summer. Using a new Tamron 150 - 600 with the D7200. It makes a great combination with the crop factor for birds.

We were at the Brookgreen Gardens in May with my walkaround 300mm Tammy so I went for animals, etc. Enjoyed your macros, very nice. Did you take the boat ride through the old rice patties? Interesting history from guide.
