and thanks for your reply. in ballet, the critical moments are in the transitions whilch occur between the positions. you are spot on on the position of the hands, they should appear natural and not tense. always difficult for the ballerina, not so much for her partner, who, traditionally, is simply there to make her look good- that is, other than his solo, if there is one in the dance.
unfortunately, most of the work is copywrited. however, i'll look through my transparencies to see if there's any Erica and I took that i can post for you. i'll keep this site on my computer so i can get back with you.
