The OP just copied and pasted the B&H has product pages. He added nothing, originally not even a comment of his own as to why he posted.

There is nothing inherently wrong, but if we all did it for every product we like, we could wind up with the entire B&H catalog reposted at UHH.

How many times have you seen this thread: D7200 or D750? At least the O.P. was a bit original.

It's OK I guess! But since the OP didn't have any comment I would try to guess it (of course it isn't true) that the OP was trying to show that the D500 is very close to the D5 but for much less money.

I have the D500 and use XQD cards very fast allow a 200 file buffer and fast downloading. Right now cost more than CF and SD cards but to me worth it

Thanks. There's nothing wrong with providing information to educate people on this site, but these cameras have both been available for months, and anybody here who would have an interest in professional level Nikon bodies are already familiar with both of them making a listing of a few of their comparative specifications superfluous.

The fast downloading would be great for shooting some of the events we work. Thanks for the info.

The advantages of the XQD compared to CF and SD are durability (no pins or exposed contacts) and speed. They increase the speed of the transfer of information from the camera to the card and the card to the computer. Most CF cards top out at around 160 m/ps and standard SD's top out at around 95 m/ps. Current XQD's (and CFast) can move info at over 400 m/ps. If speed is crucial (photojournalist), then faster cards WILL speed up your workflow. I have been able to transfer my images from a game into my computer, cull and caption, and have them sent out before many have even finished importing the images into their computers.

First, very few cameras are designed to use XQD cards. Secondly, you left out CFfast cards which are also blazing fast and are used in the new Canon 1Dx Mark II body. Curiously, it does not seem to be a feature of the recently announced Canon 5D Mark IV. While the maximum possible transfer of data is a bit higher with XQD cards, the real transfer speeds of both cards will dependent on the implementation of the standard in the camera they are used with, and in general use will have similar real world transfer speeds.

What is the comparison of the D500 to a D7100. I am not that technical, but I noticed that while there is an increase in the fps( 10/12 and 6 respectively), there is a decrease in the number of megapixels, from 26 to 20 (D7100 to D500).

Besides the information about the cards just discussed, the af system is awesome. It has the same af system as the D5, as well as the xpeed 5 processing system. If you shoot any king of moving objects, this would be a fantastic jump up.
