Jerry, nothing wrong as you very well know using a 2001 D1X to make photos. I had one and I loved its colors and easy handling. I never found a problem using its 6 megapixels.
With the right lenses the camera is very capable. I did not like its battery and that was a pain since several were needed for a shooting session. The battery made the camera a little bit heavy and with a lens like the 80-200 it can get kind of tiring at the end of a shooting.
When it came to colors the camera did very well. JPEGs were not spectacular so it was necessary to shoot RAW to get the best of it.
Another old camera that I do really like is the D200. Similar colors as the D2X but in a lighter body. The files are superb in quality with good lenses.

I agree, I still use my D200, built like a tank with pretty good IQ.

In 2001, when the 1DX was released, I was still using 35mm film. Amazing that camera cost nearly $6000 at the time, and only about 6 megapixels. People made less money than they do now. You can buy a new Canon 1DXII for about that same price today. A Nikon D5 for $6500.

Jerry, almost all of my cameras are older than that, some by 40+ years.

What's wrong with a $$ shoot using a 1968 Nikon? Absolutely nothing! I also use my Toyo 45a.

i remember that to buy my Nikon F5 i paid two months of my salary almost 20 years ago now this camera is valued around $ 300 and Nikon uses most of the characteristic of this camera into new digital D1 and D2 , why Nikon does not invented a sensor to apply to old film cameras ?

How about two 1977 Nikon FE one chrome and one black. I would still be using them if kodachrome was still available

My Nikon D200 was brilliant! It, along with the D700 all got to be too heavy to carry around.
