Hmm! Seems to need a re shoot to play with lighting. Personally I prefer a little detail / graduation in the background. The eyes seem a little soft and I might consider removing or softening the mole on her chin. I haven't had the time to invest in Photoshop much, so do very little PP work right now - that's for the future when I have time - but here's a very quick and dirty edit. I'll be interested to hear / see other suggestions...

As a repair, this is darn good. But it IS a repair and IMO, still has a lot of problems. But it SHE loves it, then who are we to say? Some people like brussels sprouts.

First lesson in sales: NEVER show an image that you would not want them to pick and made into a 30x40. Focus issue- delete it. Lighting issues - delete it. Lousy background - delete it. Eye blinks - delete it. And on and on.

Yes, your reflector is too low. Common beginner mistake. A reflector used as fill can be held low as its role is to fill shadows, not make them. If the reflector is to be the main light - as it appears it was here - it needs to be held high to place shadows properly. JUST like the flash/strobe. hight is light and if it is the main light, it needs to be held high.

Are there times you might want a low light? Sure - but this is not it.

For what it is worth, I show around 35 image from a senior session. They have ALL been retouched to at least a minimum level, so I see any image problems and can delete the images I do not want them to buy.

Lesson learned ... that and make it clear that cell phones need to be turned off during the consultation. You wouldn't believe what happened.

Since I don't do much than play with PP I feel very flattered. On the other hand, I do like Brussels sprouts, not over cooked, and finished in butter and blue cheese. Yum!

Then, there is that old joke about the difference between boogers and Brussels sprouts. The answer, " You can't get kids to eat Brussels sprouts!"

Saute them from raw in olive oil. I cut them in half first. Boiling ruins them. I eat them with a little pepper and parmesan.

I like it very much Peter. May I keep it? I can't get rid of the mole. We discused that. It's very special to her mother.

Or at least tell me what you did because I like your version much better than mine.

Sure. By all means use it. I just played with it in Canon DPP, I'll happily try and let you know what I did, send you the higher res version, and it is your image, I just tweaked the dials a bit...

It is of course easier to track those things in raw, but I'll see what I can do to find the adjustments I made..., I was just playing...
