The sequence below illustrates the steps I used to transform an image into something with a bit more "eye appeal" as Pierre Dumais has dubbed it (and I love that phrase Pierre). I have been working with Walt Childs to master the technique of replacing a sky using On1 10 Layers and my personal opinion is that nothing can touch it ..... just look at the blue sky showing through the patch of trees to the right. I finished up the image with layers of Smart Photo Editor (Studio Edition) and Topaz Texture effects.

I agree Bob. How nice to have this in your tool box.

Thanks Pierre. The toolbox is starting to get a bit heavy now, but I use my rollator to wheel it about, so I'm in pretty good shape.
I agree Bob and thanks for showing me how to use it! Well done!

Thank you Bill. An interesting piece of trivia - mountain climbers use the ravine just right of center in this photo to climb to the peak. It's too rough for me though.

I agree with you Bob. And now that I've built some muscle memory within On1 Layers, I can do it fairly quickly.

Yeah!! I like that result a lot Bob. Looks like I have to buy On1 V.10 now. Thanks a lot! LoL.
Hold on to pull the trigger John. On1 Photo RAW is coming out later this year and it promises to be even better.

When you know it's out let me know please - we often get notification late down here.
In reading your comments and looking at the original, my first thought was that the sky was a necessity but I wasn't sure what adding texture would do for it. If number 2 was mine, I would probably been proud and also satisfied with it as it. However, looking at the sky in your final version I can appreciate the subtle effect of the texture. It appears to me to have slightly smoothed and softened the look of the clouds. Between that and the brightening of the rock face, there is more attention on the rocks now. It evolved into something very pleasing and bravo for taking it all the way!
