On a trip through the Balkans we stopped a this beautiful, crystal clear lake in Croatia. Completely deserted, quiet, peaceful. Came across this weathered old stump partly in and partly out of the lake. The water was so clear that at first you couldn't tell how much was in and how much was out. The longer I stared at it the more it looked to me like a pre-historic bird straining to come out of the water. Head thrust forward, wings flapping really straining. What do you see????

You must be a very astute fellow because I agree the first bird that came into my mind was a penguin. I's glad you liked it

Oddly enough that was the only stump in the water for several hundred yards. I don't think it was part of a forest that grew there,I think someone must have put it there but there were no houses around.
Well, I am sometimes astute, but that is a lady behind that silver salmon! Sorry to confuse. Regards, Sally
