marsupial that is endemic to Tasmania, a bit different to the one portrayed in the cartoons :) although it does chew through bone like if it was butter.

Your first shot shows an animal that appears friendly - nice. The second shot with teeth shows that it is not a creature to mess with. You're right, they do not look much like the caricature that is often seen.

Epidemic refers to a disease not endemic. Note difference in spelling.
