I have been only using IR from my pop up flash to trigger my Speedlights. Ofcourse that requires a line of sight, and probably not possible behind the couple.

Maggie. Great Memorable Image. I shot many weddings and used the same technique. You were daring and creative in the rain.

no the Yongnuo YN 600EX-RT with trigger YN-E-RT less than half the price on canon and the line of sight is never a problem :)
