To educate viewers about your 15-mm macro rig, which of the above photos are 1:1 magnification, and which are close to 1:1 mag?
Also, please post a photo of your current 15-mm macro set-up with speedlight illumination.

Absolutely outstanding images Kurt. I have a copy of that lens and I am probably months away from producing anything that comes close to a standard that I would post. I have however closely read your advise on how to go about using it. Please keep the images coming!!!!!

Fabulous, I would never know most of these creatures existed without your posts. The last one deserves a humorous caption, something like "This IS my best side."

Fascinating series. The Long-horned Beetle is amazing! Very well done on all of these!

Thanks for looking and commenting, Wally, Douglass, David, Brenda, Carol. Much appreciated.

David - just keep practicing with that lens and I am sure you'll get the hang of it in no time.

Douglass - I never check the magnification, not even when I was using the 60mm. All i care about is what i see in the viewfinder, my framing, my composition etc. With the 15mm, it's even much harder to estimate the working distance as the dial is sensitive i.e slight turn -> big change in magnification.

Lighting is similar to this: http://orionmystery.blogspot.my/2012/12/melvyns-macro-rig.html

Wonderful again. Keep it up, I so enjoy each of your posts/images. Just wondering, how GIANT is that Giant Preying Mantis?
