A day spent at Bombay Hook NWR

Wednesday was hot and humid and the green head flies were horrible. I had to continually spray myself with DEET to keep them from biting me. I did get a chance to shoot an immature Bald Eagle, probably a 2nd year bird. It had landed on an old stump in one of the fresh water impoundments probably to cool off a bit and have a drink. when it took off, it started straight towards me and then turned when it got close and gave me some nearly frame filling shots. Enjoy.

Green head flies---horrible and hostile! But, then, you are the survivor type...Ed. Glad you got some excellent shots for your effort. Hopefully, you didn't bring any of those green critters home with you.

Ain't it great when they cooperate and you get to take advantage of it. Wonderful photography.

Nice work Ed, worth the fly bites. In the first shot, anyone seeing that "grip" coming at them should be afraid....even the rock! Good post, glad you had such fine results.
