I have not yet posted a photo in the Photo Gallery. Angela's Mystic photos and her email have encouraged me to do so. I have selected this photo only because it was taken in Mystic, where my wife and I spent the July 4th weekend. I hope it is successfully posted. If so, I will attempt to post some others. This is my take on the Charles W. Morgan, the most photographed ship in Mystic. Please feel free to comment and critique.

I like it, very, very nice work.
One of the things you may want to be aware of. Has a good side and a questionable side.
When you post a picture here, there is a check box noted Store Original. What does it do?
When checked it loads the full image onto the UHH site. When people then click DOWNLOAD, they then go to the full image and "sharpness" is much better, MUCH better. Relatively the image you posted posts as a thumbnail and is CRAP!!! by comparison to the sharpness if we look at your Stored Original.
Down side, the original has all the EXIF data available and is the full image, if you are concerned about theft. Me, I want people to see the best image I can post, as sharp as possible.
Your boat picture looks quite good, but not nearly as good as the "store original", where we can click in and see the MUCH higher quality image, not just a thumbnail.
A very appealing composition and eye-catching processing. Can you talk about what steps you took in pp?
Looking forward to many more, Steve!
I like it, esp the effect you did to the sky

Thanks for your detailed response. However, I don't quite follow. I did check "store original", and as far as I can tell, it can be downloaded. What am I missing?

Thank you very much Linda!
The photo was taken in RAW and first processed in LR. I then used Topaz Impression, found one of the presets I liked, and then tweeked it a bit.

A coupla things I find distracting from an otherwise OK image. The posts in the foreground and the overcooked sky.
