Great shot, why bother with a proper camera when you can get excellent photographs like this.
I am using my phone more and more lately, the main disadvantage is when using them in bright light.

Why not suggest to her that she download Snapseed. It's free and would introduce her to post-processinhg. She could then experiment with her shot on how to use it.
