I am looking for some introductory Photoshop Elements 14 training. Has anyone found a good source, i.e., online training, book, community college, full service camera shop?
Random tutorials and YouTube videos are wonderful for reviewing specific techniques. But, confusion will rain (rein?) without an organized learning "foundation". For that a learning plan or course helps. There are a lot of books that may do that. For me, a better way is to see it work on my computer.
My personal favorite is the Jan Kabili classes at Lynda.com. Buy a month's access and it should get you through the course. For first timers, there is a free trial period. Many libraries offer free Lynda.com access. In every Lynda course there are a few free lesson samples for evaluation.
If you have two screens, you can put the course on one and your version on the other. Pause the course while you check techniques or practice. I use a TV for the second screen.
Lynda.com is a major training company with a couple thousand courses. They were acquired by Linkedin last year for about a billion. Linkedin was acquired by Microsoft this year. I think one of my mutual funds has some stock somewhere!
That is a good resource. So is the Adobe YouTube channel. Yet for someone that has no previous knowledge of Photoshop Elements, or post processing in general, it can be intimidating. Sites like that can be like trying to read a novel from the middle!
