I arrived at Cheesequake State Park at 5:45 this morning. As I got out of the car I spotted this Osprey perched about 100 feet away. He allowed me to approach and I got as close as 15 feet - he kept posing. Early light required ISOs of 1600 and 2500.

The Green Heron was in good early sunlight.
Well done! You used a happy situation to very good advantage. Nothing beats getting close when birds are your subject. I also like these kind of crops. I look forward to more of your posts. Regards, Phil

The moral of these great photos is "the early photographer catches the birds!" Very nice.
