"From Under the Canopy."
This infra-red image was made with the serious intent, not commonly accomplished, of avoiding blown highlights in the photosynthesizing foliage and capturing a generous tonal spectrum and range, valuing shadow as much as highlight detail.
The inherent cues to illusory depth perception suggested that the resultant image could be a productive candidate for a pattern of transformation that would particularly emphasize the reduction of feature/detail size recession relative to assumed increasing distance from the viewer, The aim of that transformation was to produce a functional "right-eye" view to accompany the referent ("left eye" view") image in a "stereo pair". Two pairs are posted, one for viewing with parallel gaze, the other with the crossed-eye technique. I suggest that the chosen pair may be most effectively viewed in a smartphone display.
I would appreciate critique of the image per se as well as comment on the degree to which the goals of stereoscopic imaging have been achieved.
Many thanks,
Dave
Wow!
one hundred and 118 viewings and nary a comment on either of the points on which I had hoped to get at least some feed-back:
1.)The qualities of the image itself and th degree to which it did or didn't fulfill my stated aims for it, and
2.) The enhancement that 3-D was able to provide to the viewing experience.
I'd really appreciate some commentary on either or both of these topics.
Thanks,
Dave

Sorry Dave, I am of no help as I have not taken the time to understand any of your stereo stuff and don't have a cell phone.

Thanks anyway, Frank,
I'm just hoping the few others here in UHH who dabble in stereo will respond.
Dave
Sorry, no smart phone here either, and my brain can't wrap my head around the whole stereo viewing aspect.
So I covered up one side and can say I think the tonal range is beautiful!
