Thanks so much Angela. I'm glad you liked them. The next set I do will be flowers and a little less treatment.

Can't wait!! What's the name of the program?

Most of you that have seen my dragons and damsels know they are pretty straightforward and meant to capture field markings for identifications. Many of you have posted photographs with treatments that are just amazing and beautiful. You have given me the courage to give it a go. So, I got this little app and gave it a try. I fear I may have gone a little overboard. It was fun though. Angela said it would be. I'd love some real constructive criticism. I can take it!

What app? Can it do layers? Got Photoshop?
Given the subject and the intent, I would say very well done. Intense color contrasts show the intent was as exhibited, not some random result from misapplication of tools. I like the resuklt very much and, I am not usually a fan of overdone PP, but this result is exceptional.

I would like to see your original images. I can tell you had some terrific photos there. As for myself, I tend to prefer realism, or what I call "enhanced realism", with just enough PP to bring out detail, remove unwanted objects, and make the colors pop. I know you had fun doing these, but especially for natural subjects like dragonflies, this type of processing just does not appeal to me. But this is simply my opinion, so if this is something you enjoy please continue to pursue your interest.

Thank you Tom. Yeah I guess it's not for everyone. I'm not a fan of B&W except in some circumstances. I just thought I'd give it a try. Here is one of the originals. Thanks again.

The app is called Spectral. I've never done much with photos so I don't know if it has layers. That may be what those different effects are. No, I don't have photoshop. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm just beginning to try this treatment on some of my photos.

Thank you very much for you fine critique. I really appreciate you taking the time. I'm going to try it on some flowers. Where do you live in Texas? I shoot dragons near the Austin/Bergstrom airport when I visit my G-kids in Round Rock.

I'm in Deep South Texas, in McAllen seven miles from the border. I get to South Padre Island every now and then and shoot wild life both animals and people, LOL

The app is Spektrel. Don't know anything about layers. I've never done anything like this with my photographs. I don't have Photoshop.
