A thistle and almost a thistle

Posted a few close up images in the regular gallery a short while ago. Finally getting around to posting these two in the Close Up topics area as well.

Nikon D5300 35mm/f1.8 and 50mm/f1.8, minimum focus distance.

Angela and Bob, thanks for looking and glad you enjoyed them. I like trying to capture close-ups of plant items like this to help give us a glimpse into those things that are sometimes hidden in plain sight.

Carrol, Johnny, Dixiegirl and Sundar - Thanks for looking and enjoying. As for the DoF, this is what I was hoping for, and there are many other images that were ever so close, but not quite there. I am not sure if this was a case of the wind stopping, the wind blowing consistently, or the slightly gusty wind moving it to the right place when the shutter opened. Either way, I am good with it.

GWZ, excellent photos in all respects. This one of the many reasons I like Close-Up because we get to see a lot of what is right below us. Getting a close up view really improves everyone as to where the true beauty can be.
