Thanks!! I have done that also! But I don't like the sky in this one - kind of blown out?

Hi mrspatanderson
Great shots with leading lines and sharp from front to back. One of my favourite techniques too.
Pix #1 and 2 can do with a bit more contrast post processing to bring out the contrast and colours.
Pix #1 - Would like to see more of the mountain if possible. If you are sqatting, stand up, or move to another section of the track. Remember, leading lines lead your eyes/view to look at something at the end of the lines - mountains and building in Pix #2, 3 and 4, nothing in this pix.
Pix #2 - Check the train time-table and estimate when the train would be running along the track.
Pix #3 - The sky is great. The building is too central in the picture. Try squatting or lying down this time and point the camera upwards a bit more so that the building is in the upper third of the image but still retaining all of the sky.
Pix #4 - Again the mountain is too central. The sky needs the contrast reducing and the other parts can do with a bit more contrast. During the shooting stage, you can always attach a Neutral Density filter to your lens to reduce the differences in the exposure required for the sky and the foreground.
Happy shooting.

Hi mrspatanderson br Great shots with leading line... (show quote)

WOW thank you so much for your suggestions!! They are really appreciated. Hmm I never thought about having something at the end of the leading lines (duh!) and what a great idea to catch the train coming round the bend in photo #1!! That would be perfect!
I do not know how to do specific "fixing" post processing. I am very new to this. Also I don't have any filters (?) for my lens.
But your suggestions of getting different perspectives I can do! Thank you!

I think the original #3, would be dramatically affected (positively), by cropping out the sky to just about the top of the steeple. All photos are subjective, but I don't think shooting from a lower angle would be much more beneficial, if at all. In this case by cropping, you still get the clouds, and contrast that give this pic a winning quality

I was yelling at the screen not to change #3 but now I'm liking the change! That is the one time I think centered is okay but this worked.
