This canyon appears to be one not visited by most tourists. I have read of water running through slot canyons, but have never seen such. Are there times when this canyon is unsafe due to rapid and/or deep water? What is the name, and where is this canyon?
Yes, dry slot canyons are the norm, but there are locations which have streams with year-around water flow. This is one of them (Kannaraville Canyon). Flooding is always a danger during rain, especially monsoon season of July - Sept. The canyon, while not so busy as Zion, Antelope, and associated terrain, still has been discovered. Flooding in this canyon is usually less severe since it drains a smaller basin. Just beware if there are thunderstorms in the area. As you probably know, a group of eight canyoneering friends from So. CA drowned in a Canyon tributary flash flood in Zion last September.
