Currently I am using Apeture but I hear more about Lightroom,is it better then apeture,if so how, i know nothing about Lightroom. I understand that Lightroom for Mac is now available at the apps store. Should one add Lightroom to there workflow?

They basically accomplish the same thing. Lightroom is more of a "standard" than Aperture since Aperture is limited to Macs. I think it integrates with PS a little better. Personally, I tried and liked both but ultimately went with Lightroom since that is what was available in class. I didn't want the hassle of trying to work on the same photos with two different applications.

Thank you snowbear: so you find both equally adequate ,just a matter of personal preference and ones operating system.

At my level of photography, yes. A pro may say otherwise.

Additionally, if Adobe carries their subscription model to all titles, I will likely be returning to Aperture.

Try "Youtube" and type in Aperture. Hundreds of tutorials on all the different applications. I learned more in 1 hour than I could in a month trying to figure out myself. If the tutorial is boring move on till you find one you can relate too. I love Aperture, now that I understand how to use it.

One advantage of Aperture, is that you can utilize Apple's one to one program. You would have an instructor trained in Aperture to help you get the most out of the program. The cost is $100 per year, and you can go as many times as you like during that year. There is a command within Aperture to export your work to Photoshop if you need to do things that Aperture can't accomplish. The only drawback to the one to one program is that you have to go to an Apple store to meet with the trainer.

Having used Aperture, I can say without reservation that Lightroom is far easier to use, and of course works well with Photoshop Elements, PS5. I purchased Aperture when I first switched to a Mac and I abandoned it after using Lightroom
