I have put a few images that I took the last 12 months on Astrobin. I get a lot of constructive criticism, especially about my darker than acceptable skies. I agree. I am a lazy photoshoper and know I can darken the background and when doing so I can hide gradients - they are there but dark enough to be be less noticeable. The trade off for my laziness is my skies often look black with luminosity values less than 10. So I did this video this morning to show how you can evaluate your own background using an easy to create "star mask".
