What software do you suggest for creating pano's on an iMac?

I've used Photoshop and Photoshop Elements over the past years and it works well. Except in a few cases.

I've read about Auto Pano and it seems like it would take care of all cases. Just looking for other suggestions.

Thanks

I use a Microsoft program (ICE), but it's not available for the MAC. Try this Canon product.

That only works on Windows machines, not Mac.

Microsoft's Digital Image Pro also works very well to create Panoramas

A friend of mine and I wrote our own. I've not seen anything, yet, that works as well. We were lucky in that Macs use a UNIX OS and we could compile it to run on a Mac.

There are some out there, you'll probably get quite a few suggestions, but in the end, you'll have to try each to see which works best for your needs.

And I third the recommendation for Lightroom. I use the CC version and it works very well. I would also do some reading on the best way to shoot for panos. The Really Right Stuff site has the gear and some videos.

The Lightroom function is very good. I hand hold the camera vertically, shoot RAW, follow the horizon in the viewfinder and try to overlap by about 25%. Lightroom sorts it all out and produces a panoramic RAW file ready for the Develop module. Contrary to tradition, a tripod and accurate overlaps are not necessary.

Agreed, it can be accomplished by hand holding. It will be better using a tripod and doing some parallax correcting as shot and being methodical. It's pretty amazing what the software inside Lightroom can do!

Depending upon the capability you want, check out PTGui.
It is used by many in the international panoramic community
